Skydiving
Besides the newsroom, the sky is where I feel the most alive. As a professional licensed skydiver, I'm used to staying calm under pressure and making fast, logical decisions in high-stress situations. These are the skills I take and utilize as a journalist in the newsroom and in the field.

Volunteering
Hospitals & COVID-19
I volunteered at CoxHealth, one of the biggest hospitals in Springfield, Missouri in the U.S.A. for a year. After the pandemic hit, I saw how stressed healthcare workers were and wanted to help.

Buildings & Construction
It was an honor to volunteer to help build "tiny homes" for the local houseless community in Springfield. I helped build the concrete pavement leading into the houses. It was a rewarding experience the day we got to see people move in.

I also volunteered during "National Women Build Week" for "Habitat for Humanity." I helped build houses and felt like Fix-it Felix Jr. from Wreck it Ralph that day.

Animals
I volunteered to help get stray animals into forever homes. This is an event that our station hosted called "Bark in the Park." Even though it was pouring rain, we managed to get all the doggos and kitties adopted!

Potential Newsroom dog
I also have a dog named "Bubbles." She's eight years old and loves being the newsroom dog.
